Kübra completed her Master’s degree in the two-subject Master’s programme in Educational Science with a focus on Rehabilitation Science and Intercultural Communication and Education at the University of Cologne. In her thesis on the topic of Racism and Mental Health (Rassismus und mentale Gesundheit – Wie sich Rassismuserfahrungen auf die Psyche auswirken können), she conducted an interview study and analysed the traumatising effects of racism on mental health and well-being.
Until January 2024, Kübra was Research Assistant at MESH and at the Vice Deanery for Academic Development and Gender of the Faculty of Medicine. At the Vice Deanery, she assisted the Faculty’s activities in academic career development with a focus on gender-equality and anti-discrimination. At MESH, Kübra worked with Dr Carolin Schwegler in several third party-funded projects, mainly analysing communication (interviews and social media data) and its effects on mental health, quality of life, and present social issues in the 3rd SDG’s domain (good health and well-being). Concerning the latter, Kübra is starting to outline a PhD project. Her main interest is to examine certain circumstances that can have a negative impact on health, especially mental well-being.
