This seminar explores the genre of petrofiction, examining how literature reflects the influence of oil and its countless refined products on societies and landscapes worldwide.We will read a selection of theoretical and literary texts dealing with the environmental, social, and political impact of oil and discuss the ways in which oil shapes narratives, identities, and environments in an era that is marked by a sense of environmental crisis.
