In recent years, fictional works that deal with climate change-related issues have become increasingly popular with researchers in the environmental humanities to make a case for the ecopedagogical potential of what in this context is generally summarized under the term of climate fiction or ‘cli-fi’. This seminar will introduce students to this form of environmental writing and explore innovative and creative ways to teach cli-fi in the inclusive EFL classroom. To this end, students will explore and evaluate a selection of literary texts, including storybooks, short stories and excerpts from novels. They will also be expected to develop model teaching suggestions in line with the “Curriculum Framework Education for Sustainable Development”
